Course Introduction

This course teaches practical microservices architecture, the approach behind scalable cloud-native applications. Learners break monolithic systems into independently deployable services. They use industry-standard technologies: Spring Boot (Java) or Node.js, REST APIs, message queues, and service registries. They containerize services with Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes. The course covers security, inter-service communication, monitoring, and logging. It builds towards a capstone: a deployable microservices application with a CI/CD pipeline. Cross-cutting modules cover soft skills, freelancing, CV building (GitHub and system design portfolios), and using AI tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot for Dockerfiles, tests, and debugging. It prepares learners for backend, DevOps, and SRE roles, and for freelance work on microservices APIs and containerized apps.

Capstone Project

“Develop and Deploy a Scalable Microservices-Based Application.” Trainees design a real-world microservices system, such as an eCommerce, booking, or inventory app. They build independent services for users, payments, products, and notifications. They containerize each service with Docker and deploy with Kubernetes. They secure services with JWT behind an API Gateway, then monitor performance and demonstrate scaling at the final presentation.
